Parasitic
relationship, 2001 Shelf, Styrofoam, woodchip wallpaper, other objects belonging to the room 120 cm x 89 cm x 65 cm |
|
| 1 I followed the movement of a corner shelf turning in upon itself, making this movement visible on the shelf by means of Styrofoam and woodchip wallpaper. The resulting kidney-shaped form, as it grew, robbed the shelf of its stability. Only by carefully positioning objects on the shelf can the state of equilibrium be recreated. The dependency of the parties upon one another – enlarged shelf and objects weighing it down – is located in a floating state of immobility. |
